Serena and Sophia enjoying a day away from the yard last Summer! Safer than the real thing maybe?? Sadly we have had to say goodbye to a few of our horsey friends over the past weeks so we now have a few spaces available! Lots of smiles from these two and a five star service is on offer for your horse………come and see for yourself, give Karen a call today.
So on Sunday morning we took Serena and Robert to the last show of the season at ‘World Horse Welfare’, Snetterton.
A lovely venue and a beatiful sunny day so lucky with the weather in late November!
Serena and Robert competed in two classes and made all of her team very proud getting placed 1st in both classes and then won the championship! So very happy that the pair will be off to Equifest again next year as she got two qualifications! A massive thanks to Helen and Stephanie Turner for supporting and coaching her through this years showing season.
So Serena was out again competing on Robert at The Jays this weekend and what a show it was, the sun was shinning not a rain cloud in the sky but the worst arctic wind ever!!!! Oh my goodness it was cold even when Serena was warming up the wind was taking my breath away, Serena’s eye were streaming with the cold and there she was focusing on the job!
Then the rain joined us for a while just to really test the riders determination or madness at competing in these conditions!! But Serena and Robert have such a great relationship they worked together and it showed, getting placed 1st in both classes.
Well done Serena and Robert, the judge asked Serena to stay for the championships but that was another hour and a half away so as Robert had given his all and much to Serena’s disappointment we came home to thaw out!
On Tuesday 8th August I set off with Serena to Peterborough to set up base for Equifest as she was competing on Robert for the next three days, the only problem was poor Serena had been up all night with a nasty sickness ‘bug’ so travelling with a ‘sick bowl’ and poorly girl I didn’t think her first Equifest was going to be very successful…….how wrong was I……………………. Wednesday’s weather was horrific…..constant rain throughout the day, however Serena was placed 1st and 2nd in her first two classes which gained her entry into the evening Championship! The floodlit evening performance was a first for Robert and Serena, but Serena led the class into the arena and with little nerves rode beautifully in front of a large crowd to be placed 3rd. Thursday’s class Serena and Robert were placed 7th and despite still not eating anything since Tuesday on the Friday she was placed 2nd and 3rd in her last two classes at Equifest. I couldn’t believe Serena achievements, she gave everything she had so a massive well done to Serena, Robert and a massive thanks to Stephanie Turner for giving Serena the opportunity and supporting her throughout the Season. Serena even made her first appearance on ITV after being interviewed after her first class!
